So this isn't a directory. It's a Rajasthan wedding photographer's guide to the best palace and fort venues for a destination wedding in the state - laid out by place, because the right venue depends on where you want to wake up on the morning of your wedding.
Jaipur & Around
Where we shoot the most - the deepest concentration of wedding venues in the state. For a destination wedding in Jaipur, this is the heart of it.
Chomu Palace. Just outside Jaipur, Chomu is built for drama - frescoed walls, a ceremonial entrance made for a bride's arrival, a facade that catches fire under the night lights. We've photographed weddings here that felt intimate and grand at once.
Alila Fort Bishangarh. A warrior fort reborn as a hilltop resort near Jaipur - clean sandstone, long colonnades, a valley on every side. An Alila wedding trades ornament for scale and silence; as photographers, we love how the fort itself becomes the frame.
Jaibagh Palace. Jaipur sandstone at its most photogenic - carved corridors that catch the low sun by day, a courtyard washed in colour after dark. Wherever the moment happens, the frame is already waiting.
Fairmont Jaipur. Mughal-Rajput grandeur at scale - grand arches, vast courtyards, room for a big guest list and, for a photographer, room to move. The modern palace hotel that still feels like a palace.
Vijayran Palace. A Jaipur palace of grand arches and painted alcoves that glow like jewel boxes - the kind of venue where a single photograph, a bride framed by an arch, can carry the whole story.
Nahargarh Fort. Above the city, Nahargarh brings water gardens and a palace that lights up after dark - the drama of a fort softened by a formal garden, and a view of Jaipur we love to photograph at blue hour.
Samode Palace. One of Rajasthan's most photographed palace stages, and easy to see why: a grand symmetrical facade and a sweeping staircase that need no decoration. You simply step into it.
A Jaipur wedding photographer's shortlist also includes: Rambagh Palace, the Taj-run Jewel of Jaipur famed for its gardens; SUJAN Rajmahal Palace, the art-deco former royal residence; and the City Palace in the heart of the old city.
Alwar & Neemrana
The Delhi-Jaipur corridor - grandeur within a half-day of Delhi NCR, our home base.
Tijara Fort. Near Alwar, Tijara Fort-Palace is a true fort restored by Neemrana - sandstone ramparts, round bastions, and stairways you can line with petals. We've shot weddings here that feel like stepping into another century.
Also worth knowing: Neemrana Fort-Palace, the 15th-century fort that began India's heritage-hotel movement - a palace wedding barely two hours from Delhi.
Udaipur - the City of Lakes
Icons worth knowing. The crown of the luxury Indian wedding and the most-searched destination wedding city in India. For any couple weighing Udaipur wedding venues - and any Udaipur wedding photographer - these define it.
The Oberoi Udaivilas - some fifty acres on Lake Pichola, among the world's finest hotels; the gold standard for a Udaipur wedding. Taj Lake Palace - the marble palace that floats on Lake Pichola. The Leela Palace Udaipur - lakefront luxury with gardens made for a mandap. Raffles Udaipur - a private island on Udai Sagar Lake. RAAS Devigarh - an 18th-century palace in the Aravallis. Jagmandir Island Palace - a 17th-century island palace on Lake Pichola.
Jodhpur - the Blue City
Icons worth knowing. For a Jodhpur destination wedding, and any Jodhpur wedding photographer, a playground of ramparts and desert light.
Umaid Bhawan Palace - the Taj-run palace across 26 acres of gardens, host to some of the world's most talked-about weddings; Jodhpur's crown jewel. Mehrangarh Fort - one of India's mightiest forts, a backdrop nothing else can rival. RAAS Jodhpur - a boutique heritage haveli beneath Mehrangarh's walls.
Jaisalmer - the Golden City
Icon worth knowing.
Suryagarh - a golden-sandstone fortress-hotel on the edge of the Thar, for a wedding that feels like a desert legend.
