The garlands came first - Sampriti in her deep pink saree, smiling as she lifted the varmala, the flowers and the sea breeze all around her.

At the heart of the day was a quiet act of love. Sampriti wore her mother's Banarasi wedding saree - and in one unguarded moment, mother and daughter held each other close. A thread passing from one generation to the next.

It had all begun that morning with the kind of entrance only a groom can make - Jessal arriving with his baraat in a swanky red convertible, the celebration announcing itself before he had even stepped out.

The ceremony itself was held under a wooden mandap by the water, white drapes lifting in the breeze, the sea filling every frame.

An MC walked the guests through the meaning of every ritual, so no one - however far they had travelled - missed a moment. And then the pheras: the two of them tied together, circling the fire as the waves kept time.

There was joy and mischief too - a playful game between them, all laughter and competition, the kind of unguarded moment we live to catch.

And then, married, the two of them walked back down the flower-lined aisle - past a hand-drawn sign that already knew their names. A good story, ending well.
